 Patriotism
What is patriotism? Patriotism is the love; devotion and willingness to sacrifice your life for your country. The word patriotism comes from the Greek patris, which means homeland. Patriotism is shown by being a solder, honoring the people who died in war, and serving your country. I think patriotism is important because without it we wouldn’t have people to defend our country and help other countries.
Patriotism matters because without it we wouldn’t know how the solders had defended our country. In France, after the First World War, the teachers’ unions launched an organized removal of textbooks, in order to promote internationalism and pacifism. Books that described the courage and self-sacrifice of soldiers who had defended France against the German attackers were called “warlike” and the books were banished from the schools. However, this was wrong to do because patriotism does matter. People need pride to run a country.
Patriotism is about having pride in your country. The definition for patriotism is the act of being loyal to or fostering positive and supportive attitudes towards your country, especially in periods of national turmoil, such as war. Patriotism can be shown by being a solder, voting, by having respect for our flag, paying allegiance to our flag, and knowing the national anthem. Also you can participate in civic activities, being responsible citizens, and following the laws of our country, even if you disagree. You can support the troops in war, be nice and respect others, and just be a good citizen.
I think patriotism is important in a country because you support the troops in war and if we didn’t do that they would be very isolated and miserable. People can support the troops by sending solders Valentine’s Day cards and raising money. Doing charity work, voting, being a good person, and following laws are all ways you can show patriotism.

Persuasive Essay: Ninjas
Some people don’t believe that Ninjas were useful because they aren’t needed anymore. That doesn’t mean that they were never needed in Japan and other countries. Ninjas are specially trained to be stealthy and smart. Ninjas were useful because they were a great help to Japan in the 14th century and later on.

They were protectors of Japan for many reasons. Ninjas served their rulers and were very faithful. They did what they had to do without question so they made good spies and assassins. Ninjas made great assassins because they were specially trained to be the best at what they do.

Ninjas were very stealthy for obvious reasons. They needed to be stealthy to be good spies and to be discrete when traveling to opposing territories. They specialized in sabotage, assassination, and espionage. They helped gain information about other countries or territories.

Their job was somewhat the same as warriors but there were obvious differences. They both fought for their country but their jobs were different. Ninjas and Warriors were both trained but they had different training. Ninjas and warriors might have been a somewhat the same but their differences outweigh the similarities.

Even though there is no real need for Ninjas they were very useful, skilled people. They were used in 14th century Japan and later on. Ninjas are very good to have on your side because they can gain inside information for you. They served their rulers with loyalty. Ninjas were very useful back in the 14th century.
